Privacy policy

Orca Native for iPhone and iPad ยท Effective October 8, 2026

Orca Native is an iOS client for the Orca desktop app, made by an independent developer, Kyle Fang. This policy covers the iOS app and the demo desktop at orca-demo.reily.app.

No account, no server in between

The app connects directly to the Orca desktop you pair it with, usually over your local network. Your workspaces, terminal output, prompts, and the photos you choose to attach travel only between your phone and your desktop, end-to-end encrypted. The developer runs no server in that path and never receives that content.

Stored on your device

Pairing details (your desktop's address, device token, and public key), unsent drafts, and your settings stay on the device. Removing a desktop in the app deletes its pairing details; deleting the app deletes everything.

Crash and performance reports

TestFlight and release builds send crash reports and performance measurements to an error tracker the developer hosts. A report contains a stack trace, timings, the device model, the iOS version, the app version, and a random identifier for the installation. It never contains terminal text, prompts, photos, screenshots, your name, email, contacts, or location. Reports are used only to fix bugs and are deleted after 90 days.

Permissions

The demo desktop

If you pair with the demo desktop at orca-demo.reily.app, what you type and the photos you attach go to that server, which runs on Cloudflare. It keeps them in memory for your connection only and discards them when you disconnect. Cloudflare keeps standard request logs (such as IP address and time) for a limited period under its own policy.

What we do not do

No advertising, no tracking across apps or websites, no analytics SDKs, no selling or sharing of data.

Children

The app is a developer tool and is not directed at children.
